Doctor of Medical Science (Online)

The online Doctor of Medical Science program at CBU will enhance the clinical, professional and research skills of working PAs. Students will complete a doctoral project based on their professional interests.

Program Intro

Students in CBU's online Doctor of Medical Science program will complete 38 units of coursework over a 1-year or 2-year plan based on what best fits their schedule. Courses are taught by full-time CBU faculty members from the PA Studies Department as well as adjunct instructors who are also healthcare practitioners.

Mission Statement

CBU’s Doctor of Medical Science (DMSc) program’s mission is to further the healing ministry of Christ by equipping physician assistants to be thoughtful leaders and lifelong learners of scientific and practical knowledge to improve the health, quality of life, and education of communities. The DMSc program will provide the highest doctoral level practitioner-based medical science education in support of the University’s mission to prepare graduates who are globally minded, academically prepared, equipped to serve, and biblically rooted.

Program Details

PAS 710: US Healthcare Delivery

This course will explore how US Healthcare system has evolved and how the US confronts emerging issues in healthcare. 

PAS 730: Evidence Based Medicine

This course provides doctorate students with a foundation for accessing, assessing, and utilizing evidence-based medicine in their research, scholarly work, and workplace in medicine.

PAS 750: Advanced Clinical Medicine I

This course is in a series designed to provide intensive professional exposure in chosen clinical specialties to further the student's clinical medicine proficiency and professional competencies.
